City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare

I’ve never had a better use for the word meh.

I was BEGGED to read this by a friend, but I think she completely oversold it. There was nothing massively bad about the book, the story line was good, if a little predictable (although to be fair, I predicted how Jace and Clary would be related, cos I knew they were from the start. I don’t think I would have guessed that they would be related.) But yeah, it was decently written, interesting story and everything just… I don’t know. I found it very flat. It was never ‘I can’t put it down’, it seemed more of a chore to finish than a fun thing.

An Abundance Of Katherines by John Green

(I just realised I never did it when I was meant to)

Well it’s a book by John Green so of course it’s great and clever and funny and stuff. Not really an ‘oh my god you must read it’ kind of book, but like, if you like his other stuff and you can get hold of it easily then it’s worth a read :)

Looking For Alaska by John Green

Here we go again. Again with the John Green thing. Yeah. Right. I’m not ruining it for anyone, I will just say, if you like his other stuff, particularly Paper Towns, then you’ll love it. If you haven’t read anything by him, then oh my god do. Please do. Wow. This is honestly one of the best books I’ve ever read. I know I say this alot but it really is. I promise.

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

Read this book. Do it. It’s so good. Not even the story, just everything about the way it’s written is….urgh its so good. Just trust me, this is a book you have to read.

The Woman Who Went To Bed For A Year by Sue Townsend

I can’t quite decided whether I love or hate this book. It’s really well written, and I couldn’t put it down, but I don’t know why, because nothing actually really happens in it. There’s not really a storyline, it’s just a woman, in bed, for a year. But despite the fact that its a bit rubbish really, it’s a brilliant book to read:L Only took me about 3 days to read so ifyou get the chance I would recommend reading it, but I’d say don’t bother buying it….

Universally Challenged

Funny, good to just read when you have nothing better to do. Made me and my friends laugh in English cos we are so rebellious we read under the table.

Books what I have been recommended and need to read

Rich Man Poor Man by Irwin Shaw

Before I Die by Jenny Downham

Really good. Only took my two days, short book but also I couldn’t put it down. I found out after I finished it that the film ‘Now Is Good’ that came out recently is based on it.

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

Read it. Oh my god read it. It is one of the best books ever. It is so confusing and took me weeks to finish but I promise you you have to read it. Go and put it on your christmas list now. Do it. Trust me.

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

One of the best books I’ve ever read, can’t wait to see the film. Just read it, if you haven’t already. You need to read this book it will actually change your life.

The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

There are no words. Oh my god. This book is just….asfghjkl. This is the exact definition of ‘This book tore my heart out, stomped on it, crushed it into tiny little pieces and ruined my life. Here you have to read it.’ Honestly, whatever you do, read it. Just…garrhhh it’s so good and amazing and sad and oh my god just read it okay.

The Good The Bad and The Dumped by Jenny Colgan

Not a bad book, just not really the type I normally read. Well written and probably worth reading if you get a chance, but not really worth much. I went to the charity shop and got loads of books for 10p each, this is one of them so I only really read it cos I was camping.

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

Brilliant book. I’ve never seen the film but I want to now. It was a really good book for reading whilst camping cos you can easily put it down and come back to it, but you can sit and read non stop for hours if you want to without getting bored of it. Just a great book basically, if you get the chance, do read it.
